DMC adds to Confluence 2 new macros, which are:
Approvals and signatures - Current Version Approvals and Signatures
To insert this macro in a Confluence page, type “/Current Version Approvals and Signatures” where you want it to appear. This creates a table with those columns:
State/Approval Name
Action - the type of modification
By - the person that has caused the modification
Date time of the change
Comment - that is written by the owner of the change
The only modifications that appear on the table are : Change State, Approved and Rejected. The assignments and assignments of the documents are not shown here.
NB : Once a modification of the document has been carried out, the lines of this table will disappear. In other words, the Approvals and signatures macro only shows status modifications from the last update.
DMC Page History - All Versions Approvals and Signatures
To insert this macro in a Confluence page, type “All Versions Approvals and Signatures” where you want it to appear. This creates a table that is similar to the page history available when clicking on “DMC history” (to know more about it, please check this link : Check the EDMS history).
Note as well that the actions that are shown on this table are “Changed State”, “Approved” and “Rejected”. “Assigned” and “Unassigned” do not appear.
The differences between the 2 macros
You may have noticed that the 2 macros have some similarities. Nonetheless, each of them has its own particularities. Here they are :
The DMC page history shows more lines, i.e. more status modifications. Indeed, all the modifications keep being stored, whereas the Approvals and signatures macro only shows status modifications from the last update.
The DMC page history shows more columns:
The Confluence version of the document
The DMC version of the document
In some way, Approvals and signatures summarizes the DMC page history.
